Submitting to Skemman

Students need to submit an electronic copy of their thesis to the repository Skemman, according to The rules on submission of the final thesis. The thesis is made available in Skemman after graduation.

The final theses should be open to reading in Skemman under RU's Open Access Policy. Suppose access to a thesis needs to be closed temporarily, for example, due to sensitive or confidential information. In that case, the request form for closed access must be filled out and sent/handed to the department's office for approval. Students then save the approved and signed (by pen or with an electronic signature) Request for closed access form in PDF and upload it to Skemman. Please follow the previously mentioned instructions on how to submit. Adding the signed Request form is impossible if the thesis has already been submitted to Skemman. In that case, please send it by email to skemman@ru.is, and it will be uploaded to Skemman. Please note that if the department does not approve the Request to close access, the thesis will be open in Skemman.
