Business Administration: Thesis

Thesis

Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with handbooks, procedure rules and other instructions regarding the final thesis found on the course site in Canvas. Don't hesitate to contact the appropriate department office if you are enrolled in a thesis course but cannot access the aforementioned files.

From 2010 electronic copies of all theses are published in Skemman and only available online. Print copies from 2009 and older are available for viewing in the library.

Students should contact their department regarding information about the thesis layout, title page and cover.

Submitting to Skemman

Students need to submit an electronic copy of their thesis to the repository Skemman, according to The rules on submission of the final thesis. The thesis is made available in Skemman after graduation.

Final theses should be open to read in Skemman under RU's Open Access Policy. If access to a thesis needs to be closed temporarily, for example, due to sensitive or confidential information, the request form for closed access needs to be filled out and sent/handed into the department's office for approval. Students then scan and save the approved and signed Request for closed access form in PDF and upload it to Skemman. Please follow the previously mentioned instructions on how to submit. If the thesis has already been submitted to Skemman, adding the signed Request form is impossible. In that case, please send it by email to skemman@ru.is, and it will be uploaded for you in Skemman. Please note that if the department does not approve the Request to close access, the thesis will be open in Skemman.

If any problems arise concerning submission to Skemman, please send an email to skemman@ru.is.

Useful

Students in Business Administration should use the APA style for citations and references.

The library recommends the use of Zotero reference management tool.

Students can book an appointment with an information specialist to get guidance on finding references, citing with APA, and using Zotero. Nína Guðrún Arnardóttir is the library liaison to the Department of Business Administration.  Students can book an appointment with the Noona app or use online web-booking.
