Zotero

Zotero [zoh-TAIR-oh]  is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share your research sources.

At zotero.org you can download the free tool. Zotero will run in Chrome and Firefox while you do your research, and when you find something of interest, a few clicks will save the resource into your Zotero library. When it is time to write, the word processor plugin will enable you to insert in-text citations and reference list on the fly with a few clicks. Minor adjustments may be necessary.

Zotero works with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Zotero works with Microsoft Word, Google Docs and Overleaf/LaTeX (with BibTeX).

Included in Zotero are a few reference styles but there are over 1000 other styles available to be added in. All the three reference styles used in Reykjavik Universality (APA, IEEE and Oscolaare available to be added as additional styles into Zotero

Please use the official Zotero documentation for any help with setting up the tool.

For any further help with Zotero, feel free to seek assistance from the library.

Adding new reference styles

To get additional styles go to the Zotero preferences and under the Cite tab, click on Get additional styles. There look for the name of the style you want to add in. Pay attention to the date the style was last updated to make sure you are not using an old version that might be missing any recent changes.
